‘From the River🇵🇸to the Sea’ Osram Ne Nsoromma Print

$140.00

Artwork by Janina Nana Yaa

Print comes in A3 on 160gsm paper

Osram Ne Nsoromma (The Moon and Stars) is an Akan symbol the symbolises union, marriage and harmony. In this Adinkra the star is represented as the feminine and moon, the masculine. Deriving from the proverb ‘Kyekye pe aware’ translating in Twi to ‘The North Star loves marriage.’ It is said that She waits in the sky for the return on her partner, the moon.

This art piece titled ‘From the River to the Sea’ is in dedication to and in deep reflection of the divine relationship that Falasteen (and all Indigenous beings) have with their asaase whenua land, nsuo wai waters and the blatantly inherent connection through DNA that cannot be manipulated, stolen or forged by any oppressor. This relationship, much like the one our bodies have with the moon and water is fluid and never ending - as water is apart of our physical beings.
