Mami Wata : Kra Pa (Healthy Soul)
Mami Wata : Kra pa (Healthy Soul) A3 Print by Janina Nana Yaa on 160gsm paper
'Kra Pa' translating to 'Healthy soul' or indicating a 'good' person in Asante Twi, main dialect of Ghana. This saying is linked to an Akan Adinkra symbol which promote spiritual balance, protection from negative energies and positive fortune.
In this drawing we see Mami Wata (spirit of the water) submerged in a bath of calming pink hues that activate the harmony within their life force (Ankh), drawing in divine protection as they cleanse their physical body and soul. This piece encourages the focus on refreshing and nourishing the wellness of our being so that we may remain healthy, strong, in alignment with abundance in all we experience.
Original drawing medium :
Ink pen and marker
